Metabolic Disease Transplant Unit Bambino Gesù - Research Children’s Hospital, Rome,Italy

Liver transplantation (LT) has been proposed as a potentially curative treatment for a growing number of inborn errors of metabolism (IEM), as it reduces the risk of metabolic decompensations and allows less restricted protein intake. However, long-term outcome data on large cohorts of transplanted patients with IEM are still missing. We report Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital experience of the last ten years in the field of LT in inborn error of aminoacid metabolism.
